Yasam HANCILAR

Yasam HANCILAR was born in 1979, in Turkey. He started singing and playing guitar when he was 15, and up to now he has sung and played in different bands and projects. He founded his own jazz band ‘Jazzmates’ at the beginning of 2007, and he played with his band in different clubs and festivals including ‘14th International Istanbul Jazz Festival’ and the most prestigous jazz club in Turkey ‘Nardis Jazz Club’. He attended the ‘4th Nardis Young Jazz Vocalists Competition’ and he won the prize to go to Estonia for ‘8th Nomme International Young Jazz Artists Competition, 2008’. He is currently studying jazz vocal at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
