Michael Rörby, originally from Stockholm, Sweden moved to Amsterdam 2001. At present time he devides his time between New York, Amsterdam and Paris. Besides the work with his own Quartet, MRQ, his main focus lies with Blazin' Quartet and Modern Balkan Jazz Orchestra
Other significant cooperations are with Saxophone great Gijs Hendriks and the nestor of Dutch Drumming, John Engels
As a sideman he is to be seen with Mischa van der Wekken Quintet, The Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra, Rootsriders, Big Boy Caprice, Giovanca and Zuluwannsago

Michael Rörby is an alumni of Kungl Musikhögskolan - Stockholm, Sweden, from which he holds a Master of Fine Arts in Music year 2000 and Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he graduated the Second Phase with highest honors in 2003
